Part 3: A crimson dress for the bride

Chapter 10: No need for humans at the wedding aisle

After Eris and I turned Nunnally into a vampire, we decided to keep living in the church.

Of course, as Sisters.

It seemed at Nunnally had gained the trust of the people of the city more that I had expected, because no one asked anything when she introduced us.

Our red eyes, white skin were considered as simple traits-- in other words, it would seem that the creature called vampire was not very well-known in this world.

In addition, the only people who noticed the change in the color of Nunnally's eyes were the children who often came to the church to play, so perhaps the people of the city did not care much about other people's appearance.

"nfuuu... haaa, churuu, reruuuu... jupo....."

"Is it tasty, Eris?"

"Hahii...... hiya, nn.... pecha...... tashty, refuu......"

As I sat on my bed in my bedroom, I let the kneeling Eris suck on my fingers.

A warm, slimy tongue entwined with the index finger trapped in her mouth, smearing it with saliva.

That was not something I did of my own volition, but rather something that Eris had requested.

She must have been jealous of what I did with Nunnally the other day, because she begged me to do it with her when we were alone together.

Still--

"Chupuu..... nhaa, juruu..... Onee...hyama.....naahhh....."

-- I could not believe she would be this ecstatic just by licking my fingers.

Eris really did love me a lot, didn't she?

Just looking at her face was enough to make me smile.

If this much was enough to make her happy, I would be happy to give her as many finger as she wanted.

And so as I was playing with Eris-- I heard a knock on the dor.

"Aruji-sama, may I come in?"

"Nunnally, didn't I say that this was also your room? Please come in without knocking or anything of the sort."

After I said that, Nunnally appeared from behind the door, looking a little apologetic.

As one could see from the way she called me Aruji-sama (her Lord), it seemed that I had become an object of worship for fer.

Of course, if I was asked if there was no love, I would answer "No". Still, it was true that our relationship had taken a slightly different form than the one I shared with Eris.

I was likely that Nunnally would never stop knocking before entering a room no matter how many times I told her not to.

Therefore, I would think of it as one of her cute quirks, and give up on that as well.

"Since Nunnally is here, then--"

"Yes, Relie is waiting."

Relie was the name of a woman had been frequently visiting the church for a while.

Relie, who was the same age as Nunnally, would ask her for advice whenever something happened, due to her somewhat excessively negative train of thoughts.

The first time I saw this Relie had been the day before yesterday.

The moment I saw her, I had a thought.

That I would never give her to a dirty man, and that I would make her mine.

"Aa....."

When I pulled my finger out of Eris's mouth, she looked at me with her tongue sticking, as if the sight of the thread of viscous fluid separating us filled her with regret.

My chest tightened a bit, and I would have stayed forever with her if it had been possible.

I licked the saliva off my fingers and tasted Eris's flavor thoroughly, then wipes off the remaining wetness on my fingers with the towel that was left beside the bed.

"Let's continue tonight?"

"It's a promise, Onee-sama!"

There was no need for any promises, since we would make love to each other every night.

Nevertheless, no amount of promises for nighttimes would make up for Eris's loneliness during daytime,

"Nunnally, please keep Eris company so that she doesn't get lonely."

"With pleasure. I came here for that reason in the first place."

Eris glanced at me in frustration, before approaching Nunnally with unsteady footsteps and embracing her.

And then, with the same vigor, they laid their lips roughly on top of each other's, their tongues twirling hungrily.

"nchuu--.... nnn, chupuu, haaa, Nunnally.....sweeet......"

"Aaaan~, Eris-samaa...."

Nunnally, who wasn't annoyed by the sudden attack, put her arms around her waist to stay closer to her and intensely entwined her tongue with hers.

Since they became vampires and shared part of their soul, Eris and Nunnally became akin to sisters.

All humans who have become vampires are equally compassionate and loving toward one another.

Whoever they might be.

Even if they despised and quarreled with each other.

◇◇◇

"Hello, Relie."

A woman was paying in the chapel front of a portrait of the Goddess.

Then Relie stood up and turned around, shaking her short, chestnut-haired bob haircut.

She turned her brown, round eyes towards her, tilting her head to the side in confusion--

"You are... Chigusa, was it?"

Or so I was asked.

"Yes, Nunnally told me about your story. I hope I will be able to help you, even if only a little. I wouldn't want to keep you standing up, so should we sit down somewhere?"

After I encouraged her to do so, we sat on one of the benches, next to each other.

Even if she was slightly confused by our proximity, so close that our thighs were touching, I had no intention of letting her escape.

There was no point if we didn't touch each other.

Now, the fact that Relie was going to a church like this one meant that she was facing issues.

I had asked Nunnally about that beforehand.

She was going to marry a nobleman named Dick in the near future.

It went without saying that it had been an incredible catch for her, who had been discovered at the bakery was working at.

But with marriage on the horizon, various anxieties swelled up in Relie's mind.

The so-called pre-nuptial doubts.

I was a common occurrence for brides,  which would usually fizzle out when the time came. Thus, the appropriate piece of advice would be to reassure her and to tell her not to worry too much about it.

Unfortunately, my objective was not to solve her problems.

Let me be clear. Such things, they did not matter.

"Relie, may I hold you hand?"

"My hand...... why?"

"When I hold someone's one, I can understand that people's heart a little better. It is similar to making a judgement using the variations in sweating and body temperature."

"So it was like this......."

Making up reasons on the fly, I succeeded in making skin-to-skin contact with her.

I brought my hands into close contact with hers and firmly grasped it.

The details of the consultations weren't crucial-- let's just let it slide.

"So, what's this? How much did did Nunnally tell you about?"

"Relie, first of all, let's relax. If you are too nervous, you will not get any good ideas."

"Still......."

"Also, instead of talking as if I were a stranger, please use the tone you usually use."

I said so, putting my index finger to my lips.

She seemed distressed, but when she exhaled, she said with resignation.

"If Chigusa says so, then I will talk as usual.... Is, this okay?"

"Yes, this way, I am sure you will have more positive thoughts."

"Just like Chigusa's way of speaking?"

"Because it is plain."

When I asked what was wrong with my speech, Relie chucked.

She seemed to be fundamentally a cheerful person, so she shouldn't be suffering from pre-nuptial blues if she had a positive personality like this.

"So, how much did you hear from Nunnally?"

"You were going to marry a nobleman, and were worried about your life after that. I didn't ask about the details of that worry, but are you afraid that you will feel lost among the other noblemen?"

"Certainly, when he invites me to a party or something of sort, a commoner like me can't help but feel out of place. Their aura is completely different from mine."

Maybe because of the modest one-piece dress she was wearing, Relie's nature was not very flamboyant.

"I don't think you have anything to worry about, since you are already this cute with so little makeup."

"........ Cute? Me?"

"Yes, isn't he saying the same thing? From my point of view as a woman, I find you so cute that I am also drawn to you."

"Uuu..... W-wait a minute, if you look at me while saying this...."

She seemed to be unfamiliar with being praised for her cuteness. It would appear that the man named Dick was a late bloomer as well.

What a waste. Even though you could witness her embarrassment just by giving a straight up compliment.

"Everything would be solved if Relie could be more confident in herself."

"Even if you say this........ he never told me anything like this."

"Won't you trust my words? Your bright eyes, your plump lips, and your soft skin. And the sweet aroma of the buttery mixture typical of your bakery. All of them are charming, Relie."

Praising her as I brought her face close to mine, Relie fell silent, her mouth opening and closing in close succession, and her face turned red.

"Your palms are sweating so much. Was it really that embarrassing?"

"Th-there-there's no need to hold my hand to understand something like this!? Are you making fun of me !?"

"I am not. Everything I said were my true feelings."

Turning serious all of a sudden, I declared so while looking straight into her eyes.

There was not a shred of a lie.

From the very beginning, I had been attracted to Relie so much that I wanted to make her my own.

"It sounds like lips service when someone beautiful like Chigusa tells me that. But....... it doesn't feel like a lie."

I seemed that my feelings had finally been properly conveyed, because she was touching her face to make sure that she was really the kind of person I had described.

I followed up on my declaration by whispering in her ear.

"If you still have doubts, I'll say if as many times as I have to. Relie, you are cute."

"Uhiyaaa!?"

Startled to hear my follow up from a distance so close that we could hear our respective breathings, she jumped backward in dramatic fashion.

"Don't suddenly get so close to my ear! As I thought, you are teasing me! "

"Fufufu, I apologize. Relie's overreactions are so innocent, that I couldn't help but play a prank just now."

"Geeez...... when I heard about Nunnally's Sister friend, I believed that she would be meek and gentle, but it wasn't the case at all."

"I was being serious during this consultation though?"

"Well.... I guess I do feel a little more confident in myself, at the very least. Surely, if Chigusa goes that far, then it must mean that I am pretty cute, right? So much that I won't lose to nobles!"

In the first place, being a noble did not necessarily mean that your appearance was superior.

And even if it did, it would probably be thanks to the amount of money they spent on makeup and dresses.

"Hey... you know? I think I'll go home for today but....... in fact, there are still matters I would like to talk to you about. So... may I.... come again?"

Relie began to talk with a gloomy expression on her face, as if trying to say something very embarrassing.

I had no reason to refuse, since there was no better way to spend a long time in contact with each other.

Putting a slight pressure on the palm of the hand I was holding, I did my best to make a gentle smile and answered her.

"I will be waiting for your visit. I will definitely help you if you are troubled in any way, so please tell me anything, okay?"

"Thank you. I'll come back when I have time."

Upon this promise, Relie let go of my hand, waved goodbye and left the church.

I watched her until the front gate of the church closed and she was completely out of sight-- and immediately after, I made the calculations in my head while staring at the palm of my hand.

The time needed before fascination.

The necessary elements to separate her from the nobleman.

There was only one answer. Discard what was irrelevant and take everything you need in my own hands.

Working backwards from the final goal and determining the number of days needed-- I went back to the room where Eris and Nunnally were waiting for me.

To tell them that I didn't think I would be able to spend the night of them this time.

NB:

Here, I romanized レリィ as Relie, based on Relie Aingram (レリィ・アイングラム) from Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut.

Similarly, ディック was translated as Dick, based on Dick (https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/Dick) from One Piece.
